Orange Cats Available for Adoption

Three cats from the Pallet Colony are now available for adoption at PAWS Chicago.   Joann trapped Prince Charming this week. He is the 19th cat trapped at this site, and the seventh cat taken in by PAWS’ adoption program. Doesn’t he look comfortable already on their adoption floor? Also, the orange kittens from the… Read more »

2015 Trap Neuter Return Case Study

Since 2007 I TNR’d 183 cats from 20 colony sites within one square mile around me. Today there are only 51 cats from that total left outside. That is a 72% reduction rate in nine years. I am very happy with these numbers and track them carefully. I visit these colony sites and their feeders all the time… Read more »

More TNR and Meeting More Feeders at the Pallet Colony

Melissa and I trapped at night in the alley next to the retirement center because we knew there were cats also coming from the coach house. Clara is hilarious – she hisses… Read more »

TNR Friends are True Friends

TNR friends make the best friends. Joann offered to help me pick out frames at the store she works at for some of my dad’s art, and also told me about their holiday coupons. My dad died in 2003 and I’ve been putting this off because I would always get too emotional. I took this… Read more »

Rockstar Pets to the Rescue!

Elissa, owner of Rockstar Pets – a doggy daycare, has been fostering and socializing Clara and Darren, two kittens we trapped in mid-October.   They were very scared when we first got them and needed human interaction immediately so that they could eventually be adopted out. Elissa has lots of socialization experience and started immediately…. Read more »

Recovering Sick Feral Cats

Sometimes feral cats need a little bit of recovery time BEFORE surgery.   Such was the case with Sydney. PAWS Chicago said she was a bit too sick with a URI to get spayed. They gave her a shot of Convenia, an antibiotic, and said she needed some time to get better.   Sydney was… Read more »
